The practice
We have been designing homes since 2000, from extensions and loft conversions to the careful restoration of period and listed buildings, and new houses built from scratch. We know what councils look for, how older buildings behave, and how to draw a scheme so a builder can price it accurately and build it without surprises.
Architectural coordination is part of the service. When a project needs a structural engineer, an ecologist or a party wall surveyor, we bring them in and manage their input, so you have one point of contact and we take care of the rest.
About
Sam Wallis
Senior Architectural Technologist
I've worked in architectural design since 2000 and set up Multi Tek Design in 2004. For 17 years I also worked alongside the principal of a conservation practice on listed buildings and period homes, which shaped how I approach older houses. I handle every project personally, from the first survey to the final site visit, so you deal with the same person throughout.
What we do
Extensions, period and listed homes, and new houses

House extensions
Rear, side and wraparound extensions, and loft and garage conversions.

Listed buildings
Listed building consent, heritage statements and careful repair.

New build homes
Single plots, replacement dwellings and self-build houses.

Drawings only
Planning drawings and Building Regulations drawings on their own.
How we work
A turnkey project, or just the stages you need
Survey and brief
We measure the building or site accurately and agree exactly what you want from the project.
Design
We develop options with you until the design fits the house, the setting and the budget.
Planning and consents
We prepare and submit planning applications, listed building consent and conservation area applications, and deal with the council through to decision.
Building Regulations
Building Regulations drawings and specifications, coordinated with the structural engineer, so your builder prices and builds from one set of information.
Tender
We help you appoint the right builder, with tender information detailed enough that quotes compare like for like. We can also introduce contractor teams we work with regularly.
Project management
We visit site, administer the contract and keep the job moving through to completion.
In the detail
Getting the detail right
A joinery profile that matches the original. A material chosen to weather well. A junction worked out on paper before it reaches site. We apply the same care to every project, whatever its size.
